The future doesn’t build itself, and at Libelium, we know that well! That’s why we come together each year to ignite the engine of our ideas, strengthen our team spirit, and plan how to continue to lead the IoT industry like an experienced big brother.
On January 15 and 16, we gathered in Zaragoza, home to our headquarters, with the entire team: from the fantastic minds at the Libelium Lab in Murcia to our brilliant expats from Seville, Alicante, Cádiz, Madrid, Barcelona, and Berlin.
The reason?
“Beyond the Challenge 2025” two intense days packed with activities designed to motivate, inspire, and remind us that we can overcome any challenge together.
The event kicked off on the afternoon of the 15th with an escape room activity where the team had to solve a mysterious murder.
This activity aimed to foster teamwork using the DISC methodology, which allowed team members to identify their behavioural profiles and learn how to collaborate and communicate more effectively based on these profiles.
We loaded our new corporate backpacks with personalized DISC reports and new insights.
On the event’s second day, the presentations were divided into three thematic blocks: Trust, where we reflected on our strengths and learnings; Present, showcasing practical cases and tangible results; and Future, focusing on innovations and strategies to position us as IoT leaders in 2025.
Alicia Asín, CEO and Co-Founder of the company, kicked off the day with a talk where she outlined Libelium’s main action plans for the year and shared details about the strategy for 2025. This strategy focuses on sustainable urban health, tourism, and critical infrastructure solutions.
“We understand what the market demands, and now we also know ourselves better. Fortunately, we have a diverse team that excels at working together. For 2025, we need resilience, adaptability, and proactivity in decision-making,” Alicia concluded in a talk where she warned that AI would accelerate many changes, requiring agility to face them, intelligence to anticipate them, and creativity to drive them forward.
The day continued with the participation of up to 15 colleagues from different locations who shared successful projects, learnings, product updates, and future opportunities for the company.

One of the most anticipated moments was the Beyond the Challenge Awards presentation, now in their second edition. These awards recognize the best ideas proposed by our team throughout 2024.
At Libelium, we believe innovation doesn’t just come from significant projects but also from the small (or not-so-small) ideas sparked by our people.
Congratulations to Jessica Castillo and Juanfran Inglés for being this year’s winners, and thank you to everyone who contributed their innovative ideas!
At Libelium, we don’t just embrace the challenges presented by our clients and environments; we enjoy them, lead them, and take them further.
This annual event is our way of tackling challenges together and reminding ourselves that no matter how high the obstacles are, we’re ready to overcome them—together!
So here we go: Beyond the Change 2025.
Because at Libelium, the best is always yet to come.
